Table of ContentsHow does the Trending category work?
Trending content is determined by the total number of actions associated with it. Because of this, we're working on displaying that number for content throughout the site. That way, creators and players have better visibility and more transparency of this critical metric.
Currently, Trending is not based on play-throughs or Bookmarks. Although those metrics can be indicators, content tends to trend higher when players take more actions during their stories. We may consider including other metrics in future iterations of the Home Page and Discover algorithms.
What constitutes an action?
We consider actions as individual story entries that are created by you, the AI, or another player (during Multiplayer games). Actions are counted once players get into the game screen, not during setup. Continue counts as one, Retry counts as one, and Take A Turn counts as two (to include the AI's output). Nothing else is considered as an action.
Do you have tips on how to increase player actions?
We don't really have any tips on how to increase player actions right now. You could think of the total action count as Spotify minutes listened, though. The more someone likes a song, the more they'll listen to it, which racks up their minutes listened. So, rather than the number of times someone's started a Scenario, it would be beneficial to focus on creating content that engages players for longer play-throughs!
