All About Do Mode

icon
This icon represents Do actions in the game screen.

In Do mode, anything you type is recognized by the AI as an action performed by your character, and it reacts by generating the outcome of that action within the context of the story.

Using Do adds 'You' to the beginning of your inputs and converts any first-person words (I, me, my, mine, etc.) outside of quotes into second-person. So, if you write in first-person (I went to the throne room.), your input will automatically be turned into second-person (You went to the throne room.) because the AI works best with this format.

Example:

Player input: Enter the throne room to tell the king of my discovery.

Input sent to the AI: > You enter the throne room to tell the king of your discovery.

Tip: You can use Do to input more interesting Say actions; shout, cry, ponder, or even combine actions while saying something.

Example:

Player input: shout, β€œHey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!” as you shake your fist at the schoolmaster.

Input sent to the AI: > You shout, β€œHey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!” as you shake your fist at the schoolmaster.

Tip: If you only use Do and Say modes during gameplay, the AI is more likely to generate repetitive sentences that always start with β€˜You’. To avoid this, we recommend varying your inputs between Do, Say, and Story; this will encourage the AI to generate a wider variety of sentence types throughout your adventure.
