Qualifications

Our moderators are our front line of defense in maintaining the safety of our Discord community. They take actions such as warning, muting, and even banning players. They also help make sure discussion stays on topic for each channel, and act as a liaison between the community and the Latitude Team.

As such, moderators are expected to conduct themselves professionally. They set the tone for community interactions.

Previous experience with moderation is helpful but not required.

Extensive knowledge of AI Dungeon is also helpful, but not required.

Moderators must be 18 years or older.

How to Apply

To begin the process, please email community@latitude.io and include the following information:

• Name and pronouns we can call you by
• Email address used with AI Dungeon
• Discord handle
• Reddit username
• Answers to the following two questions:
• Why you want to be on the moderation staff?
• What’s one suggestion for improving our Discord server and community?

Once we’ve received your application, a member of our Community Team will reach out to you on Discord to continue the process. We will ask a series of questions, and you’ll be invited to do either a text or audio interview. The text interview option would take place on Discord where our Community Team and Senior Moderators will ask you questions asynchronously over the course of a few days. Or you can opt for an audio call with a member of our Community Team.

If accepted, you’ll be granted a Trial Moderator role, where we can see you in action. If the team is comfortable with your understanding and application of the server rules, you’ll be added as a Moderator on the team.

Responsibilities

Our helpers are knowledgable players in the community. Many of them have been playing for as long as AI Dungeon has been around. Some of them are AI aficionados, and are able to describe the nuances of constructing a great AI adventure.

Helpers are also knowledgable about the creation process on AI Dungeon. They may also know a bit about some of the pesky bugs, and workarounds to suggest to players. They have a great ability and interest in helping all players increase their skills and knowledge in AI Dungeon.

Helpers don’t have to know everything, but they should be excited to continue learning about AI Dungeon.

About Creators

Our creator community builds Scenarios on AI Dungeon, and they are a critical part of our ecosystem and community. With the Creator Discord roles, we want to provide greater visibility to our creators, as well as provide them inside access to the Latitude Team.

There are 3 Creator roles (criteria to qualify down below):

• Top Creator
• Creator
• Emerging Creator

Earning the Creator Role

Creators who qualify will be notified via email that they are eligible for the role. We will evaluate Creator status every 3 months. The Creator role is not permanent, and must be maintained.

Top Creator

• 250,000 actions in the previous quarter
• Account must be 3+ months old
• Must have at least 3 new creations in the previous quarter

Creator

• 50,000 actions in the previous quarter
• Account must be 3+ months old
• Must have 2 new creations in the previous quarter

Emerging Creator

• 25,000 actions in the previous quarter
• Account must be less than 6 months old
• Must have at least 2 new creations in the previous quarter

Responsibilities

The Pioneers get early access to new features being evaluated for AI Dungeon. Pioneers are part of the development process and will interact directly with the Latitude team. We turn to the Pioneers group for feedback on not only features, but product roadmap, AI models, data sets, and more. If you want to be part of building AI Dungeon, being a Pioneer is for you!

The Latitude Team selects new players to be alpha testers and join our Pioneers group from those who are active in beta testing, feedback request, and Heroes discussion channels on our Discord server.

Players we invite to the Pioneers group will now be granted a Trial Pioneer role for about 3 months. At the end of the 3 months, we will either upgrade them to full Pioneer or rotate them out of the group.

Earning the Pioneer Roles

The best candidates for Trial Pioneers are players who are passionate about AI Dungeon and like trying new features, who are able to be patient with a few bugs, can articulate the problems they are encountering and document the steps to reproduce issues, provide thoughtful feedback, and are respectful to others in the community. Those who instigate fights, cause disruptions, or harass players will not be considered.

We are specifically looking for players who are curious, ask questions, give productive suggestions, and participate in community discussions about Heroes as well. A benefit of being a tester is getting to preview unreleased features and have frequent communication with the Latitude team about new projects. Trial Pioneers get the ability to play Heroes right now in the very early work-in-progress stage and experiment with the current setup to help give us direction about what to work on next.

Our team is working on the server every day, but not everything hits our radar. So, if you’ve been actively contributing to beta testing, feedback requests, and Heroes discussions for multiple weeks but still haven’t received an invitation to become a Trial Pioneer, please send an email to our community team at community@latitude.io. Include your Discord handle and email associated with your AI Dungeon account in the message, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
