AI Dungeon Basics
Using Game Screen Controls
AI Dungeon comes with several controls for you to master as you create your worlds and adventures!
DO / SAY / STORY
Switching between your character’s actions (DO), dialogue (SAY), and adding narrative exposition yourself (STORY), is one of the most important skills to master to create compelling adventures. Just click on the DO / SAY / STORY button to the left of the text entry box to switch between the different modes!
UNDO removes the last action written by you or the AI. It’s a useful tool if something happens that you don’t like, or if the AI becomes repetitive.
If you’ve used RETRY but want to go back to a previous AI response, REDO will cycle through all the retries for the current action you’re working on.
AI isn’t always perfect on the first try. Use RETRY to have the AI come up with an alternative response.
Use MEMORY to remind the AI of past events in your story that it may have forgotten. Examples: who you are, where you are, what you are supposed to be doing.
“Fine, I’ll do it myself!” is the motto of the EDIT button, which lets you change any input / output you’d like in the story. Fix a character’s name, add an event, or make that AI output juuuuust right.
This features allows you to RESTORE any previous output / input. It can come in handy if you go a little too far with the UNDO and REDO buttons.
Use this button to share feedback with the AI Dungeon team on the AI’s performance.
